CONDUCT:
The way parents and family members behave at youth sports games and practices has a significant impact on the player experience. Parents can set an example for the Blue Star Cowboys by displaying the high level of sportsmanship that we expect of all its participants and respecting all players, coaches, umpires, and volunteers. Parents are expected to respect game officials and their authority during the games, promote the physical and mental well-being of players and cheerleaders, and remember that learning and doing one's best is more important than winning. Parents or family members who participate in unsportsmanlike conduct including taunting and using profane language may be removed from practices and games.


VOLUNTEERING:
Blue Star is a recreational organization open to athletes of all skill levels and experiences. We depend solely on the dedication and support of parents and volunteers to provide a successful program. All football and cheer families are expected to sign up for and complete at least two hours of volunteer duty during the 2025 season. There will be a sign-up sheet circulated during the first week of practice. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • GAMEDAY CHECK-IN AND TEAM WATER FILL-UP
  • CONCESSIONS SHIFT [HOME GAMES]
  • GAMEDAY CHAINS [AWAY GAMES]
  • ASSISTING WITH UNIFORM FITTING
  • HOMECOMING COORDINATION
  • PEP RALLY COORDINATION
  • BANQUET/END OF YEAR CELEBRATION COORDINATION
  • HOLIDAY PARADE COORDINATION
  • GAME DAY ANNOUNCING [HOME GAMES]


FUNDRAISING OPTIONS - REQUIREMENT:
Blue Star is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that relies on community donations and fundraising in addition to registration fees to cover operating costs each season. Blue Star utilizes funds to cover costs like: league dues, insurance, field paint, equipment (new and improved), uniforms, and game officials. Funds are also used to fuel team celebrations like Homecoming, the local parade, and end-of-year celebrations and awards.

All families are required to participate in the season fundraiser which will be announced in August 2025 or pay an opt-out fee. Families that do not wish to participate in fundraising should pay the per-player opt-out fee at registration. Failure to participate at minimum fundraising levels or pay the opt-out fee will result in a fundraising charge to your account.


REFUNDS:
Requests for refunds, not due to a season cancellation, will be subject to a $100.00 cancellation fee; all requests for refunds must be made by JUNE 15, 2025. No refunds will be issued following JUNE 15, 2025.

DMV ID:
All football players are required to have a non-expired DMV ID card (must be valid as of 7/31/25). 

These DMV IDs are used to verify your child before every game. Your son/daughter will NOT be allowed to play in a game unless we have a current DMV ID at check-in before the start of that game. You can download a DMV ID request form from our website by clicking the link at the bottom of our home page. Fill out that form and take it to the DMV with your son/daughter along with their birth certificate, social security card, and proof of residence such as a utility bill. They will take a picture of your son/daughter, and you will receive the card in the mail in about 7 days. Please have the ID so that you can give it to your Team Director during the first week of practice and no later than August 1, 2025.
